This section focuses on tying together the learnings from women’s digital experiences. It contains suggestions from the literature review and an overall analysis in the form of a stakeholder-based playbook on building, enhancing, and maintaining women’s digital trust. These stakeholders primarily comprise state actors, private technological builders, grassroots action bodies, and the broader research community.

Government and state builders, regulators, and implementors:

  • Refers to institutions, or entities that play a pivotal role in establishing and developing the governance structures and frameworks necessary for running a state.

  • E.g., Government (e.g., Central and State governments), regulatory authorities (e.g., RBI, SEBI) that oversee compliance with laws and standards, and implementing agencies (e.g., PwD) 

Private technological builders and implementors: 

  • Refers to global private technology corporations, Indian developer communities, and associated researchers in design and user feedback

  • E.g., Meta, Google, Beckn Protocol

Civil society actors in digital and gender development:

  • Refers to civil society organisations focused on building advocacy, research, and skilled community infrastructures for women’s digital interests

  • E.g., Fontal Development Foundation, Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi

Research organisations and thinkers in the digital trust and security space:

  • Refers to private and public research organisations that focus on shaping the knowledge pathways for other stakeholders, to direct action towards women’s trust in digital services

  • E.g., Aapti Institute, Centre for Digital Public Infrastructure (CDPI), Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS)
